"I was referred to Dr. Lowery for surgery on my Achilles tendon/heel spur. I wanted to make sure everything was going to be covered by my insurance before I made the decision to have the surgery because I am on a fixed income. I began asking questions due to the fact I did not want to be caught off guard financially with items I may need after the surgery that would not be covered by my insurance. I wanted to be prepared. I also expressed my concern when he said he wanted me to wear the aircast on my foot after surgery. I told him that I could not wear it because it had hurt my back previously. I did not want to renjure my back. Without wearing the boot, I felt that he would not do the surgery. I was examined by a resident of his. I expressed my opinion that if I were to have surgery , I wanted him to do it because he was the doctor I was referred to. Dr. Lowery never asked if I minded if someone else examined me first or would be involved in my surgery. Dr. Lowery gave me 2 weeks to ...
make up my mind whether I wanted the surgery or not. I called the office a few times to ask questions whether I would be financially responsible for anything. I was given a message stating that he felt he covered everything in detail, but had he done that I would not be asking questions. He did not reply to me personally.at all during this process. I decided to cancel my next appointment with Dr. Lowery due to this factor- the last phone call a staff member made to me was given with a message from the doctor. Dr. Lowery had given this person a list of 3 doctors names for me to contact for the surgery that I needed. If Dr. Lowery did not like me asking questions, that I as a patient have the right to ask, and he did not want to perform my surgery , I wish he would have handled the situation better and informed me of his decision himself instead of through someone else. I felt this could have been handled better and in a more professional manner. I informed the staff member that I would not be coming back , but to please thank him for what he had done for me already. Sincerely, Minister Tracy Lee Weishner "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
