What led you to become a doctor or choose your focus of medicine?I have always had a desire to help people - ever since I was young; I want to see the whole person treated, not just one aspect of the disease How would a patient describe you? Compassionate, thorough and thoughtful Proudest moment as a doctor… Seeing one of my patients walk who had been confined to a wheelchair and unable to walk due to inflammatory muscle disease; seeing the improvement and knowing how much his quality of life increased was a proud moment In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship? What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor? They can expect that I will listen to them and make myself available to them

"Dr Brown, at first, seemed extremely concerned and even told me “you’re going to feel better.” Once she determined a diagnosis and started me on trial medicines and I became more ill than when I walked in her office I was brushed off. I came in with joint pain. Today I now have sudden onset gastroparesis, my body is in a constant allergic response, (and I have NEVER had allergies in my life) and my joints hurt more severely today than they ever have. I was to see Dr Brown today about no longer using humira and where to go now, especially with all of these new issues. Instead, her nurse practitioner came in to see me. I’ve waited THREE months to see her and I didn’t even get to see the doctor. The nurse practitioner was prepared ONLY to start the next Med on the list after humira and couldn’t answer even ONE question about my new conditions. I sat there crying and she never even offered comfort. I literally sat in silence for a good min or 2, shocked and crying, and she never said a word, ...
I assume waiting for me to decide if I wanted more meds from her list of options and nothing more. She didn’t even offer me a tissue, I used my shirt. I’ve never felt such uncaring disconnection from a doctor in my life. I’ve never been a sick person until I started checking into joint issues and seeing Dr Brown and now I’m a walking medical nightmare with a new, major life altering issue added to my plate every day. I’ve had to resign from teaching due to all of this and now never see my being able to return the classroom again ever. My only hope is that whatever has been done to my body can be reversed in better medical hands. I would NOT recommend add Brown to anyone again. I had very good recommendations come to me about her and now I’m not even back at square one, I’d give anything to be there again. I’m now a medical anomaly floating under the doctor safe diagnosis “auto immune disease” and who the auto immune doctor themselves refuse to consider helping with anything more than a “menu” of drugs. "I have attempted to make an initial appointment with Dr Brown since Dec 2022. First, the office staff claimed they never received my referral. After several attempts, my primary care staff was finally able to successfully transmit the referral. Then, the office staff requested my previous records. I requested my previous doctor to transmit my records. I have attempted several follow up calls to insure the successful transmission and to schedule an appointment. I have left several voice mail messages, yet no one ever returns the calls. Worst encounter I have ever had with a doctor's office."

"She is very caring and has helped my Mom for the last 5 years with her RA. Excellent and down to earth. Great staff. If you need help come see her!"

"I thought I was alone but from these reviews its obvious I'm not. Dr Brown has been my rheumatologist for years, since her Baptist days. Like some of you I followed her, driving over an hour when she was almost to Navarre. Since bringing on a PA things have definitely changed. The PA has a LOT to learn. I have some complicated serious conditions. I dont have the patience to be her learning tool. I signed up for Dr Brown, not a wet behind the ears idiot. When I asked Dr Brown about seeing her instead I got a huge attitude. And noone ever answering the phone is extremely annoying. I hate changing doctors but I think its time. Why should I and my insurance pay to be disrespected and receive poor service?"

"I met Dr. Brown years ago and followed her from two locations. The Dr. and staff I once new no longer exist. A lot of the reviews about the past 2 years that have negative responses all carry the same theme. As loyal and long time patient I started experiencing the same as others when it comes too no one answering phones, emails, returning messages, everything is always gone missing, mystery messages they say they left but I never got, my appointments always being changed with no notice over to Mrs. Blank, my other physician's never being able to get her to communicate back. My last appointment Dr. Brown was running behind. In came the other lady and I had not seen Dr. Brown in so long I simply said I did not mind waiting but I would prefer to see her. You would have thought I slung profanity at everyone in the building with all that unfolded next. One of the reasons I wanted to keep my appointment with her is because I knew there was no chance of getting a return phone call about my ...
questions and I was trying to be proactive. I am always more than willing to wait for a doctor who is running behind it happens. I am willing to wait 2 hours if that is what it takes to see a great doctor. Dr. Brown had passed a message along to me a while back that she would no longer answer any patient phone calls back directly nor emails. I would like to say however over the past 2 years I have personally seen some one be 5 minutes late then refused to be seen, charged $100, and be degraded by staff. I am passing this along because I personally saw and heard it so that you don't doubt those who say it was there experience. Yes, I have clearly heard office staff, nurses, and others gossiping in plain view. Take it to the Breakroom for goodness sake!!!!! The final straw... Dr. Brown had ordered blood work. I went to Baptist Hospital which is where I get everything done to complete it so it would be available to all my doctors and her. They spent an entire day trying to reach the office to let them know that my Iron level was dangerously low as well as my blood level. At 7 o'clock that night I received a frustrated phone call from the head of pathology letting me know what had happened. He said in good conscious he couldn't leave without reaching me and telling me to go straight to the ER for blood. Right after that my primary doctor at Baptist called me from home to tell me not to drive myself. He said either find a driver or call an ambulance. We are close so he made me swear not to put it off... I went needed units of blood and Iron infusions right then. Dr. Browns office called the next evening to say they had a voicemail. Well they had multiple because the next day my doctor tried to reach them all day. Moral of this story.... Sometimes doctors can be great for years and change. The change however should never come down to bad patient care. I am sorry but my personal opinion is GREED got in the way. "

"Thorough, listened to my concerns, very knowledgeable, discussed treatment option, explained use of various tools to diagnose and track disorder. Finally - someone who gets it and treats appropriately."

"Horrible! They wasted months while I am suffering forcing me to get a referral while they take their time to process it, then they wanted me to fill out their forms before they will even give me an appointment. I did it and it asks for a credit card number. Then after they had it it still takes another week they didn't call at all and I called them and email then they have the sadistic nerve to tell me I can't come for 4 months and only at 7:45 in the morning even though I like over 100 miles away. Before I got involved with them they lied to me on the phone saying it would only take 1-2 months and didn't inform me at all about only 1 time for appointments! They are despicable monsters!! Nothing close to healthcare!!!"

"Was a great office and was able to see Dr. Brown. That has changed and now not only do they not follow ANY COVID 19 protocols, but you don't get to see Dr. Brown (instead you see a snarky PA) and she offers things like Ivermectin & hydroxychloroquine."

"Dr Brown is the most caring Rheumatologist that I have ever had. She listens and treated my conditions appropriately. I highly recommended Dr. Brown. ??"

"I have been waiting five months for my appointment with Dr Brown. The referral was sent to Brook in February. She sent me a new patient info pack we filled it out and faxed back with a fax confirmation. She said it would be June at the earliest. After no contact in June we contacted Brook. She said she never got the paperwork. She never followed up . Next available is November. Only on the panhandle is this level of total disregard for people- sick people acceptable. Emailed paperwork this time she won’t answer her phone. Said the credit card info wasn’t filled out. Now with a good conscience how am I supposed to trust her. Seems all they care about is the money. Five Stars rude, incompetent, uncaring and unprofessional."

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
