"He operated on my mother at Shands years ago. The procedure did not go well and left my mother on life support. After the surgery he said he was tired, he said he would see us the next day and provide a summary of the procedure. The next day we were told he went on vacation. We never saw him again. My mother died shortly thereafter. I finally heard from him a week after my mother's funeral."

"I found all you are is just a number or maybe just a $$ with Dr Martin. He performed my aortic valve and ascending aorta replacement in November. Had one follow up visit, didn't see Dr Martin, in December and was told to get an echo in a year and send him a copy of the report. I have seen Dr Martin a total of three times. Once at the first appointment, in the operating room and then happened to run into him in the hall at the hospital. He always sent PA in to see me. I complained of pain in my upper back the whole time I was in the hospital and was told it was normal. I had a CT done in December for something else and they found a few things that I had questions for DR Martin, like 3 fractured posterior ribs, so I sent in overnight mail a copy of the report along with a disc of the CT. That was December 16th. Today is January 12th and I still have not heard a word from him or his office. I have called numerous times and left messages and I get no response. He might be a good surgeon, ...
but as a caring doctor he comes up short. I just expect more. "

"If you are reading this you are needing surgery and scared and I was where you were. In 24hrs I went from the CrossFit guy who never broke a bone to a 8.5 Aortic Aneurysm and needing my valve saved or replaced. Dr. Martin and his staff were a 100% top notch in my darkest moment. He is humble even with his Tom Brady level skill. His team is more caring then a Chickfila. And they prepare you in a way I can only 5star as a personal Science Educator myself. Breathe knowing you are in the best possible hands."

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
