"Dr. Littleton was generally friendly and helpful when I met with him prior to my diagnostic laparoscopic surgery to identify and treat possible endometriosis. We spoke about the severe, cyclical pain I had been experiencing in the past year. Because a good bit of this pain had been located around the area of my appendix, we talked specifically about looking at that area for signs of possible chronic appendicitis or other issues. When the surgery was actually performed, Dr. Littleton spent very little time exploring and reported afterward that he found no indication of endometriosis--and no explanation for my pain. He reported that he couldn't see my appendix, but gave no explanation for why that might be. He later discussed possible treatment for IBS (something I had already ruled out with my other doctor). I was frustrated to have undergone surgery and come away with no answers. I contacted a pelvic pain specialist out of Charlotte who is more experienced in endometriosis care and ...
scheduled a second surgery. This specialist noted that Dr. Littleton's operative report did not indicate key aspects of a complete diagnostic laparoscopic surgery required to truly rule out endometriosis. My surgery with this specialist revealed endometriosis lesions, scar tissue on my bladder, and adhesions on my appendix--all of which offer at least some explanation for my pain. This surgery also revealed that I had adenomyosis. Dr. Littleton did not identify any of these issues. Dr. Littleton might be a fine OB/GYN for general concerns, but I do not recommend him for pelvic pain relating to endometriosis or adenomyosis. Seek out a specialist if you can. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
